I was incredibly amused yesterday when a guy came into work who looked a lot like one of the Trappers from Cannibal! The Musical. Was it Nutter or Loutzenheiser? Hang on, let me do some research..... It was Nutter! (aka the blond one) Also, I'm not brilliant with accents, but to me this guy sounded part Irish, part Swedish. o_0 But then the second time he came in, he sounded a bit American, but that was probably just me projecting Nutter onto him.
Anyway, I've had The Trapper Song in my head since then, which it brilliant in it's disgustingness!
In other news, it's Kubrik week on SBS next week! 2001: A Space Odyssey is on Sunday night, and I can't wait for Monday night: The Dark Side Of The Moon.
This spoof documentary plays on the conspiracy theory that the moon landing in 1969 never took place.......... President Richard Nixon asked for fake footage to be shot at the MGM studios in England, with CIA agents acting the parts of the astronauts. All those involved in the scam were sworn to secrecy and given new identities. But Nixon, fearing they would talk, sent the CIA after four collaborators. The fugitives were chased to Vietnam, and Nixon deployed 150,000 men and half the US Sixth Fleet to hunt them down and eliminate them. The only one to survive was Kubrick, who locked himself away in his studios from then on.
:D
Also, someone had the brilliant idea of putting The Shining on Thursday night, which means that I don't have to attempt to sleep straight afterwards, because Queer As Folk is on! And according to SBS's schedule, Barry Lyndon only goes for 2 and a half hours. It seemed a hell of a lot longer last time I watched it.... Although, 2 and a half hours actually is quite a long time, especially without ad breaks....
A Clockwork Orange on Friday night!!
