I've spent the last few days finding Aussie music to upload for NiHers, and I've come to a conclusion: Australian music is awesome!
A few years ago, I went through a phase where I listened almost exclusively to Aussie stuff. A while ago, I thought that was a bit weird, but now I completely understand it, because I'd forgotten how great this stuff is.
But I think I'm over Powderfinger. I haven't listened to them for ages anyway, but now when I hear them, they just seem really... boring? That's the only way I can think of to describe it. I used to like them quite a bit, but now, it doesn't seem all that interesting. But I have a newfound love of The Whitlams. Their sad stuff >>>>> than Powderfinger's, which I think is the stuff that I mostly used to like (also, pianos FTW!). Now if only I could find No Aphrodisiac......
I'm also remembering how much I loved (and still do) The Living End. It's bringing back memories of being a little 13-year-old, getting excited about songs that are actually ABOUT something. I think that's where my love of punk started (even though they're more rockabilly). The first CD I ever bought was by The Living End..... I really need to get their last two albums. Maybe mum has them.
...............
Bugger, she doesn't. Oh well, I'll just have to get them myself.
BTW, Sam: could you send me More Than You Are? I keep forgetting that I don't have it.
